Springhill Care Home residents recently enjoyed the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) Garden Birdwatch challenge.
Four woodpigeons, four magpies, two blue tits and a sparrow were spotted over the weekend in the gardens of our Accrington care home.
They managed to keep warm and watched the birds from inside, ticking them off their list to send to the RSPB for their data monitoring.
The birdwatch event takes place every year at the end of January to enable the RSPB top monitor trends and to see how the birds are doing.
But so far, the most colourful bird that they have seen is Bill’s pet budgie, and they managed to get a couple of photos of them together, but unfortunately pet birds don't count towards the RSPB data!
