Caring Hero going the extra mile

Congratulations to Billi-Jo who was recently nominated for a Caring Hero award.


Several members of the staff team at Riversway Nursing Home, Bristol put her name forward for the award as her fantastic attitude shines through to all.


Billi-Jo hasn’t been with us for too long, but she positively promotes that it’s highly important to spend quality time with every one of our residents.


Billi-Jo works within the domestic team and she constantly goes above and beyond to show her natural ability to care whilst going about her day to day duties.


Jan Wilkins, Operations Director at Riversway, said: “We are extremely pleased that Bill-Jo is incorporating our values within her role.


“Billi-Jo goes the extra mile and when she’s returning the residents’ washing, she listens and supports the people that she is returning items to, actively putting an individual’s needs first.


“We are pleased to see that our core values are being implemented across the care home, so we would like to say a huge well done to Billi-Jo.”


The Caring Hero award is usually a monthly award, but this was the second time that a member of staff received one this month at Riversway.

Collette’s a Caring Hero

Springhill Care Home’s Collette has been chosen as a Caring Hero for her hard work and commitment to those she cares for.

 

Collette was nominated by the management team at Springhill, and was presented with her certificate by general manager, Curtis Bennett.

 

She was picked as a Caring Hero as a ‘member of the dementia team who gives her all to deliver high quality person-centred care.’

 

The Caring Heroes campaign was launched by the Springhill Care Group to recognise the everyday good work done by care staff in the industry which often goes unnoticed and unrewarded.

Caring Hero award goes to Liz

This month Elizabeth has been awarded the Caring Hero award for going above and beyond in her role at Riversway Nursing Home, Bristol.

Liz was recently a finalist at the South West Great British care awards as best newcomer.

With a fantastic personality Liz helps residents and her colleagues by offering a helping hand whenever possible.

She always has a positive attitude and smile, with a compassionate approach and a fantastic approach.

Liz has been described as an asset for the floor that she inspires with a loving way of caring for all residents.

Being there when needed no matter what, showing dedication.

Sophie becomes care home’s Caring Hero

This month Sophie became Springhill’s ‘Caring Hero.

The learning and development co-ordinator was recognised for going above and beyond for staff and residents at the Accrington-based care home.
Sophie has been at Springhill for just over four months and has been quickly praised for her exceptional support to staff.

Sophie has supported staff with competencies and on-going qualifications, often staying at work late to help them achieve their aspirations.

She is committed to supporting staff and recognises the potential in each member of staff.

Mike Lakins, Head of Learning and Development at Springhill said: “Sophie will always go the extra mile with staff and offers support and guidance in all aspects of their job role – she has supported staff with competencies and on-going qualifications, staying late to help them achieve their aspirations when necessary and when she has been asked to.

“She cares about her job role and is committed to supporting staff and encouraging the potential in everyone.”

Caring Hero Andy goes the extra mile

This month we are highlighting the work of Riversway health care assistant Andy, our latest Caring Hero.

 

Andy, who has worked at Riversway just under a year, has shown a commitment and passion for our residents and their care since day one.

 

Colleagues report that they look forward to working with Andy because he is so helpful, both to staff and residents alike.

Always putting our residents first, Andy has used his knowledge and skills to help in carpentry projects as well as many other areas. He is proactive and understands exactly what it means to offer person-centred care, with a real focus on friendship and identity.

 


Perfectly embodying our Springhill values, he goes the extra mile in everything he does, which is why Andy is our latest Caring Hero.
