Rebecca says that her role at Birch Green is a vocation to her, it's not just a job, it is something that she really enjoys and Rebecca believes that making a difference and placing people’s individual needs first is embedded in you to be able to do the best for our residents every single day.

Rebecca always has a smile and a helping hand for all our resident's, staff and visitors. She goes the extra mile on every shift, Rebecca is a great asset to our team and we just wanted to say ‘Thank You’.

#CaringHeroes - Michelle Elliott

Michelle is a relative newcomer to Springhill Care Home, having joined our team in May 2016 as PA/Administrator.  Michelle is often the vital, first point of contact for people looking for a placement for their relative; people who are often in a very emotional and anxious  state of mind.

Michelle handles all their enquiries with genuine compassion and does her best to answer all their many and varied questions in a friendly, helpful way, helping to steer them through what can be a very traumatic process.

Admin staff are often overlooked when recognition is being given but I am extremely pleased to nominate Michelle as one of our Caring Heroes.  Keep up the good work Michelle!

Congratulations Michelle, you are one of Springhill Care Groups #CaringHeroes

(Michelle was nominated by Kath Parkinson, Director of Quality & Compliance at Springhill Care).

#CaringHeroes - Carol Whittam

CarolCarol has worked for Affinity Supporting People for four years and she always goes above and beyond what is expected and delivers support to an exceptionally high standard. Carol has recently supported her Key person Stuart on his first holiday in 10 years.

Carol assisted and worked closely with Stuart in making all the planning and preparations in a way that Stuart understood, instilling excitement during the run up to his holiday. This attention to detail and what would be right for Stuart made all the difference. She made it happen in a way that only she would know. A special skill and understanding.

In the end, Stuart thoroughly enjoyed his trip, taking part in the entertainment in the hotel, walking around Blackpool and enjoying the sights, sounds and scenery. He also enjoyed a number of visitor attractions and had the holiday he dreamed of. He has since thanked Carol for helping him and making it possible to achieve one of his most important goals.

Congratulations Carol, you are one of Springhill Care Groups #CaringHeroes

(Carol was nominated by Leah Whelan (Affinity) and Paul Tustin (Freshfield) - A BIG Thank you to you both for your nomination)

#CaringHeroes – Our Riversway Nursing Home Maintenance Team – Andy, Tim & Darren

Andy, Tim and DarrenWell where do we start - In addition to keeping our home safe and in good repair our maintenance team Andy Hall, Tim Amblin and Darren Lucas continuously build excellent relationships with all our residents and relatives, often going above and beyond to ensure they are  made to feel right at home and cared for from the second they arrive at Riversway.

For example when a new resident comes home to Riversway they ensure their new room is personalised to their liking, from re-arranging the furniture to positioning their treasured possessions and  photographs in the exact right place, they help tune in their radio and they provide them with the right size TV – They play a massive part in ensuring our residents are made to feel at home straight away, it’s these little things that really matter and make our residents and their families smile, that’s important to us.

They are a cheerful, person centred team who work really well together and everyone is pleased to have them around as they make a big difference to people’s lives.

Thank you to you all from all the team at Riversway Care

Congratulations Andy, Tim and Darren – You are all Springhill Care Group’s Caring Heroes
