#Caringheroes - Jamie Matthews

Jamie’s been working at Birch Green Care Home, Skelmersdale for nearly four years, starting with us as a Health Care Assistant, progressing into the role of Senior Health Care Assistant, and now in the position of Team Leader.

Jamie say’s that she gets tremendous job satisfaction putting our residents and their individual needs first by ensuring she knows their likes and dislikes and taking time to listen to our residents and residents’ family’s views and opinions and supporting residents to achieve their aspirations.  Jamie also promotes health and wellbeing and she also encourages our residents to be as independent as they can be.

Jamie finds her role very rewarding and it’s a pleasure working alongside her, this is why the team at Birch Green have nominated Jamie as one of our Caring Heroes.

Thank you Jamie and congratulations, you are one of Springhill Care Group #CaringHeroes

#CaringHeroes - Michelle Elliott

Michelle is a relative newcomer to Springhill Care Home, having joined our team in May 2016 as PA/Administrator.  Michelle is often the vital, first point of contact for people looking for a placement for their relative; people who are often in a very emotional and anxious  state of mind.

Michelle handles all their enquiries with genuine compassion and does her best to answer all their many and varied questions in a friendly, helpful way, helping to steer them through what can be a very traumatic process.

Admin staff are often overlooked when recognition is being given but I am extremely pleased to nominate Michelle as one of our Caring Heroes.  Keep up the good work Michelle!

Congratulations Michelle, you are one of Springhill Care Groups #CaringHeroes

(Michelle was nominated by Kath Parkinson, Director of Quality & Compliance at Springhill Care).

#CaringHeroes - Carol Whittam

CarolCarol has worked for Affinity Supporting People for four years and she always goes above and beyond what is expected and delivers support to an exceptionally high standard. Carol has recently supported her Key person Stuart on his first holiday in 10 years.

Carol assisted and worked closely with Stuart in making all the planning and preparations in a way that Stuart understood, instilling excitement during the run up to his holiday. This attention to detail and what would be right for Stuart made all the difference. She made it happen in a way that only she would know. A special skill and understanding.

In the end, Stuart thoroughly enjoyed his trip, taking part in the entertainment in the hotel, walking around Blackpool and enjoying the sights, sounds and scenery. He also enjoyed a number of visitor attractions and had the holiday he dreamed of. He has since thanked Carol for helping him and making it possible to achieve one of his most important goals.

Congratulations Carol, you are one of Springhill Care Groups #CaringHeroes

(Carol was nominated by Leah Whelan (Affinity) and Paul Tustin (Freshfield) - A BIG Thank you to you both for your nomination)
