The first home in East Lancashire to be awarded Investor in People status in 1995, Springhill Care Home is also fully registered with the Care Quality Commission , (CQCI), who provide detailed reports following each comprehensive inspection. 

Our management team recommends and welcomes inspection visits at any time, either announced or unannounced.

At Springhill we firmly believe that staff training is the key to successfully delivering a quality care service. The fact that 90 per cent of our staff hold or are working towards a minimum of NVQ level 2, demonstrates proof of that commitment.

In May 2000 we became only the second nursing home in the  country to be awarded five star status by the Residential and Domiciliary Board for "exceptional standards."

We have an enviable reputation for intermediate care dating back to 1999 and are proud that hospital patients are transferred to us for rehabilitation and following a short stay, return to their own home happy and healthy.

We currently have a rolling block contract with Blackburn with Darwen and Hyndburn & Ribble Valley Primary Care Trusts, to provide six beds for orthopaedic intermediate care.

Recently we were privileged to be selected to pilot the Gold Standards Framework in End of Life Care in East Lancashire.

The national initiative is to enable a 'gold standard' of care for people nearing the end of their life and we were recommended by local Macmillan nurses after being impressed by staff enthusiasm and commitment to care.

Springhill Care Home has been accredited to ISO 9001 since 1992 and is a 'Preferred Provider' of Lancashire County Council.
