Residents from Skelmersdale care home Birch Green joined youngsters from St John’s Catholic Primary School in the town for an annual event.

The Christmas meal and brass band performance say eight residents attend including Joyce Caunce, a former dinner lady for whom the event brought back plenty of memories.

As usual the event was a success with children and Birch Green residents alike.

Karen House of Birch Green said: “The annual visit to St John’s is always very popular, and the residents love chatting to the youngsters. The school is always very welcoming and I would like to thank them for their support over the years.”
