Patriotic residents of Bristol’s popular Riversway Nursing Home were certainly in the right place and the right ‘flag waving’ mood to celebrate the patron Saint of England’s day.
For their residence is actually in Crews Hole Road, St George, so care staff made a special effort to mark this often overlooked occasion.
More than 20 elderly folk enjoyed a special celebration tea complete with fairy cakes decorated with the red cross of St George and listened to some of the patriotic songs of yesteryear.
Riversway Proprietor Ken Nolan said Vera Lynn’s “We’ll Meet Again,” was definitely a firm favourite and everyone had thoroughly enjoyed the occasion.
